About Us

Hello I am the owner of the silent fox breed of chickens. These are Old English Gamefowl based breeds and I have been breeding and raising these chickens since 2002. I have been a fancier at a tender young age by exposure. Both sides of the family from the Philippines have been involved in raising gamefowl. My exposure is from my dad raising a few here and there. My dad went abroad and I continued with school and that was the end of it.

When 2002 came I met a man which became a very good friend of mine introduced me again to gamefowl and I have been breeding and raising it ever since. I met a few fanciers throughout the journey that influenced me of varying degrees and it has been fun. I decided to make an information website about my gamefowl and its breeds. Also partly since my son is taking coding class. I made this his extracurricular activity.

I have been criss-crossing these breeds at the moment heavily using the pure breeds. I will be very patient to check on the crosses for possible infusions within the breed. I will keep breeding the pure ones until I get the satisfactory ones as replacements and if it's not possible to go with infusions again within the flock. Eventually I believe it will become one or possibly not. I don't mind repeating the individuals that I have already until they couldn't continue [hence my 3/4 sweater were breed 3 years in a row]. Overall the health has been holding up except my green legs. It seems they're becoming smaller. I will continue breeding because one of the two hens is slightly larger, I'll continue breeding until I have a satisfactory size. Like I mentioned it's been fun. Though I don't believe it will become one because we only have one lifetime. Thank you for reading this blog about chickens.

Silent Fox Green Legged Red Black Breasted Gamefowl

The original rooster is called a Doc Robinson Hatch with a shot of oriental blood in it. The breed has green legs with the bottom of the feet slightly yellowish. The hackle feathers of the male comes dark to lemon reds. The females are buffed and dark brown in color. They have big bones with thicker shanks than most. It has a pea comb. They are very gentle. Very good demeanor in general. Since this was just a rooster I needed a female to propagate it. My brother in law also got a tassled grey pullet. He called this flarry eyed grey. It has blue legs and a straight comb. I bred them together and I bred back the pullets to the original rooster. I have done this twice [7/8]. I also obtained another green legged pea comb rooster called a Mclean hatch. I bred this to the first back hen that I still have [3/4] and the pullets produced was breed back to the lone 7/8 rooster that I have. This is my Silent Fox green legged red black breasted gamefowl. This is one of my new breeds.

Silent Fox White/Yellow Legged Black Breasted Gamefowl

The original rooster was obtained again by my brother in law. He called this breed Kelso. He is dark red with a big head. He is a pea comb. He's slightly mean, the offsprings have two kinds of demeanor tendencies. Either they are mean or they are sentimental. They have a flighty tendency when they are mounting. Again he is by himself so my friend gave me a green legged hen named Lopez to propagate it. I don't know the name of this breed, but I like them so much that I have bred them brother and sister. I tried to breed back to the rooster [3/4] but didn't like it. This is how far I have gotten currently. Again this is one of my new breed.

Silent Fox Yellow Legged Black Breasted Gamefowl

This is my oldest breed of Old English Gamefowl. This was given to me by a friend when he was possibly a week old. It was so young you are unable to determine whether it will be a male or female. It turned out to be a male. He calls this a sweater breed. He is a yellow leg long body, short shanks and rich, thick plumage. The feathers seems wider than my other breeds. They are tenderhearted chickens also. Again I don't have a female for this so a friend of mine lent me a green legged straw color pullet. The first pullet I bred to the original cock for 3 years because I enamored it that I wanted as much as I can. I bred it back to 7/8 but did not like it. After that I have been breeding brother to sister also.
